In this film deer warden, Dom Holtam, takes us through the do’s and don’ts of dispatching an injured deer lying on the side of a busy road. Deer wardens give up their time to attend road traffic accidents to ensure that injured deer suffer as little as possible. Wardens often find themselves in emotionally charged situations. Police, casualties and shock means that the job of dispatching the animal needs to be swift and discreet.
