Fences are an obstacle for deer, and an obstruction for deerstalkers. We are in glorious Scottish countryside in the far north of Caithness with François Fortpied from Belgium and stalker John Dodd. These blocks of forestry around Loch Calder, near Thurso, offer the chance of a red or a sika in the rut, and maybe a roebuck too. But the deer seem to know how to use the fences against us…
