Crispi boots are a favourite with hill stalkers and others who want dry, comfortable feet after a hard day’s walking in all kinds of terrain and undergrowth. Jane Keen of Cluny Country Store explains why the boots are proving so popular.
“We stock the Crispi Hunter boots, which have been called ‘hill slippers’ by some – but the best sellers for us have been the Crispi Highland Pro. It’s basically a Gore-Tex gaiter moulded over a Gore-Tex boot,” Jane says.
“There’s a Boa lacing system which is super easy to tighten up, so you won’t have any space around the ankles which can cause rubbing. The zip reminds me of a dry suit – it’s fully watertight. Then on the outside it’s Cordura that’s woven with Kevlar, so it’s super robust and fully waterproof.”
She continues “These are amazing for going through gorse and heather. In Tasmania they also protect from snakes; we don’t have that problem here in the UK, but there are other beasties to contend with – these protect against ticks too.”
