Made in Germany the Heat-it unit is a thermal insect bite treatment. We spoke to Joep from the company about its benefits for the Fieldsports community and their families who enjoy the great outdoors. All you need is your smart phone to power the unit allowing it to go to work.
This is how the company describes how it works: “The way it works is to relieve itching and pain by briefly heating the affected area to approx. 51°C. The nerves in the skin react to this heat impulse. Current research suggests, heat application reduces the transmission of stimuli. Therefore, the itching signal can no longer be transmitted properly and the need to scratch disappears. In order to achieve this itch-relief effect on the skin nerves, a short heat pain is necessary. This medically proven principle of hyperthermia can be used for mosquito, horsefly, bee and wasp stings.”
