Deerstalking

‘I shot a deer in a police station’

Deer manager Paul Symons gets an unusual request: there’s a deer in distress at a Plymouth police station, and please can he come and deal with it? Devon & Cornwall Constabulary and the RSPCA are getting it right on deer RTAs. When they find a deer that’s been involved in a road traffic accident or is otherwise in trouble, they call in deerstalkers such as Paul. Meanwhile, other organisations in Plymouth are not so positive for deer. Chewing gum manufacturer Mars Wrigley’s plant is overrun with the animals, and it looks like they are doing nothing about them. Paul takes us on a tour of Plymouth, which is now home to hundreds and maybe thousands of fallow deer.
