The BR460 EL Sporter is a serious claybusting gun, but also exquisitely made, with woodwork and engraving that lifts it above the run-of-the-mill competition shotguns.
The EL in the name stands for Extra Lusso, which translates as ‘extra luxury’. “It has a beautiful piece of wood and very nice engraving indeed,” says Edward King from importers ASI.
“The engraving is done by laser but then finished by hand, and you can see it very clearly if you look closely. It’s very different to the rather flat, lifeless engraving you get with plain laser engraving, and it lifts the gun into a different category,”
For all that, the BR460 EL Sporter is a very competent competition gun, with all the features you would expect, including a sporting stock, wider rib, choice of barrel lengths up to 34 ins, colour-coded multichokes and a detachable trigger mechanism.
Edward points out one important detail: “The springs are not only on guides, each one is also within its own box, so in the unlikely event of one breaking it will maintain most of its efficiency.”
The Rizzini BR460EL Sporter retails at £7,335.
