It wasn’t so much a debate, more a pile-on. In Westminster Hall on Monday 23rd February 2026, 24 MPs from across the political spectrum spoke up for shooting sports, and against Labour’s plan to put shotguns under the Section 1 controls currently reserved for rifles. A public consultation will follow, and it will be important for all shooters to respond and make their views heard.
