We’re about to find out at the English Open Sporting Championship, this year held at John Bidwell’s High Lodge Shooting Ground near the Suffolk coast. Last year’s event, at Doveridge, provided a last-minute drama as Mark Winser swept in right at the end of the final day, to beat James Bradley-Day’s score of 117, which had held the lead all through the week. This year’s championship is shaping up to provide a similar level of drama. On day 1 Phil Gray posted a phenomenal 118 out of 120.
