Fieldsports Britain – Game Meat Special

It’s healthy, locally-sourced and delicious, and it is coming to a town near you. Cai Ap Bryn is shooting deer to feed the hungry, and Aimee Blakey looks at how the Country Food Trust is able to put 30 million pheasants on the nation’s plates.

There’s a game meat revolution underway, and it is led by food banks. As more and more people turn to food donations to make ends meet in the UK, they are welcoming fresh venison provided by charities such as Dom’s Food Mission, and pheasant casseroles from the Country Food Trust. Cai supplies Dom with venison in Brighton and finds out how he plans to roll out his food offer all over the UK.

Meanwhile, Aimee meets Tim Woodward from the Country Food Trust at a food bank in Yeovil, Somerset. Plus she takes to the streets of Salisbury to offer a pheasant taste test to local shoppers. David is on the News Stump and Charlie chooses his video selection for Hunting YouTube in this week’s episode of #FieldsportsBritain
