How much damage can you do to a rifle before it blows up? We take a .243, .270 and a .308, and we do terrible things to them. First up, we shorten the barrel with an angle grinder (no crowning) and see what that does to accuracy. Then we try firing a rifle with a loose moderator. Next we mess with floating barrels, we put water in the barrel, we super-heat the barrel. Finally, we get serious and find out how to destroy a rifle. Thanks to the Fieldsports Nation for supplying the tests. Thanks to Tim Pilbeam and his helpers. Find Mike West on Instagram or Facebook
