PRESS RELEASE 10th January 2014
Never mind the floods: there is a new weekly TV show about fishing, every Friday night on YouTube.
Hosted by Hywel Morgan with help from Ant Glascoe Jr, Fishing Britain is a magazine programme about all kinds of angling. It features fun, news, tips, products and events in its line-up.
By anglers, for anglers, it covers coarse, sea-angling and game fishing, taking the viewer to different parts of the UK – and the rest of the world. Programme line-up on Fieldsports Channel now includes Fishing Britain, new airgun show AirHeads, flagship weekly show Fieldsports Britain, Jason Bruce’s Headhunter Chronicles, The African BBQ Hunter and Schools Challenge TV.
“Fieldsports Channel gets 1.5 million views a month on YouTube and another half a million a month on Youku,” says Fieldsports Channel co-owner Charlie Jacoby. “Our viewers enjoy all kinds of fieldsports and we have been making regular fishing films since we started broadcasting our weekly show five years ago, including shark-fishing in Australia, carp-fishing in China and trout-fishing in Kenya. Apparently, 70% of shooters fish, so we are expecting a good audience for Fishing Britain.”
Fieldsports Channel has a new staff member, who is working on Fishing Britain. Aaron Jones has 15 years in the television industry behind him and comes from prodco BearLeft TV, which made many of Hywel Morgan’s popular DVDs. Aaron says: “Launching a weekly half-hour TV show about fishing during the worst January floods in living memory has been a challenge, but I have enjoyed every minute – and I hope viewers will be both entertained and informed by what goes out.”
Notes for editors Fieldsports Channel produces a half-hour weekly online TV programme about the best of British hunting, shooting and fishing. Launched in 2009, it achieves 2 million+ views a month.
