Roy Lupton is out after bucks in the rut – but this job is more than waiting for a gold medal head to walk into his sights. He has worked hard on this pheasant shooting estate all winter, keeping down the foxes. Now it is summer, he has earned the right to stalk it for deer. And once that roe is shot, instead of heading for home thinking of a delicious venison steak, he stays on to have another go at the foxes. After all, next season’s pheasants are about to arrive.
