Farmers call for Packham probe

BBC TV presenter Chris Packham’s impartiality is in question again after he called for a weedkiller ban. The NFU wants clarification from the BBC about his role after Packham called for a ban on glyphosate.

The Springwatch host used Twitter to promote a link that has a petition to ban the weedkiller and critics the NFU as ‘anti-environmental’.

The NFU says the report is “riddled with inaccuracies and out of date information”.

Last year, he was investigated and cleared by the BBC Trust following a complaint by the Countryside Alliance that he had breached corporation guidelines on anti-hunting bias.
