CZ 600 new bolt-action centrefire rifles

CZ has launched a new generation of bolt-action centrefire rifles, the CZ 600 range, with a unique modular design that offers improved reliability, durability, ergonomics, safety and accuracy. The new CZ 600 models replace the previous centrefire rifles in the company’s range.

The new guns were well received by shooting journalists such as the UK’s Chris Parkin at the international press launch event, held at the company’s headquarters in the Czech Republic in mid-October. Since then the official launch, originally planned for January, was brought forward to 15th November 2021.

CZ 600 Range

There are five new models, available in a range of popular calibres including .223 Rem, 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5mm Creedmoor, 6.5mm PRC, .308 Win and .300 Win Mag.

The Alpha, Lux and Ergo models are guaranteed to shoot sub-MoA three-shot groups at 100m, while the Range model shoots sub-0.75 MoA five-shot groups. The compact Trail version is guaranteed to shoot sub-2 MoA.

The action frame is made of aluminium or steel, depending on the model, and CZ guarantees a minimum service life of 20,000 rounds in continuous use. Aluminium models have an integrated Weaver rail, while the steel models have a Remington 700 type mounting interface.

CZ 600 Ergo

The company says that its CZ 600 series combines the best qualities of controlled feed and push feed systems: ‘This simple and reliable patented design delivers 100% user controlled feed in all shooting positions, and under the most demanding conditions.’ The bolt handle’s short rotation angle allows for fast and comfortable operation without the risk of hitting a mounted scope.

There’s a newly developed, user adjustable single- or double-stage trigger mechanism with four levels of pull weight that can be adjusted without removing the receiver from the stock.

CZ 600 Lux

The patented safety is vertically positioned on the top of the grip for easy access and reliable use. It is released with a quick press down and allows for completely silent operation.

The rifles also feature a novel lockable magazine which can function like a normal magazine or be locked and used as a fixed magazine.

CZ 600 Trail

All the rifles have high-precision barrels that are cold hammer forged using CZ technology.

The surface of metal components features CZ’s new BobOx chemical heat treatment, which gives a hard, durable finish that resists corrosion.

CZ 600 models:
  • Alpha – a rugged all-weather hunting tool
  • Ergo – the premium model with thumbhole stock of fibreglass reinforced polymer
  • Lux – a classic-looking hunting bolt-action rifle with walnut stock
  • Range – for target shooting or long-range hunting, with laminated, adjustable stock
  • Trail – a compact, sporty bolt-action with light alloy chassis and extendable stock

Prices are expected to be in the region of €1,250 to €1,600.
