Fieldsports Africa – African Hunting Ancient & Modern

It is the poor man’s elephant hunt. Dassies or rock hyrax are one of Africa’s unsung sporting quarry. These little animal’s closest relative is the elephant, so think of this as big game hunting on a small scale. Rich Leonard tries it out on a rocky part of South Africa that also has ancient cave paintings, showing how our ancestors hunted. Meanwhile, the Swarovski Optik Steel Gong Challenge is underway, where the best long-range shooters among South Africa’s PHs compete for best shot.
