Jack Pyke Pro-Lite Hunters Jacket – review

When you’re outdoors all day, you need a jacket that won’t let you down, whatever the weather. Fieldsports Channel’s Jason Doyle is a big fan of the Jack Pyke Pro-Lite Hunters Jacket. “This is Jack Pyke’s most technical and lightweight jacket. I use it every day.”

“It’s a super lightweight outer layer that doesn’t add a lot of warmth, so in the summer you can use it as a waterproof windbreaker. You can just roll it up and stick it in a rucksack or jam it into its own pocket ready for when you need it. In winter I’ll wear it as an outer layer over a fleece or down jacket.”

Jason Doyle says the jacket works well as an outer waterproof layer, summer or winter

The jacket is made of three-layer, four-way stretch material with a waterproof membrane and lightweight mesh which makes it breathable, waterproof and lightweight. The hood can be adjusted with two separate drawstrings. For easy temperature control, there’s a full-length front zip with double puller, covered by a zip cover with hook and loop and press stud fastening.

Jason finds that the stretch material allows him to swing a gun freely, and adds that the jacket dries quickly after a shower. “I just give it a shake and hang it on the back of the driver’s seat in my truck, and it’s bone dry in no time.”

Retail price is £125.
