The Belgian shepherd or Malinois has gone from herding and guarding livestock to frontline service. Dog trainer Sean Brown from Petsercise.co.uk in Northumberland introduces us to two different owners: one with a military dog-handling background and the other who wanted the Malinois as a pet. Both have different training techniques to keep the dogs fit and well, and an essential part of that is mental training – they enjoy physical training, but crave mental stimulation.
