OIlie Williams talks to former editor of SA Hunter, Johan Van Wyk, about the Meopta Optika6 3-18×50 riflescope. It comes with a 4C reticle and RRP in the UK is £617.
The pair agree that this isn’t a scope for African plains game. It’s too big and complicated, when you’ll be carrying your rifle yourself and not shooting beyond 200-300 metres.
For varminting, as they call it in Africa, it would be just the job however. Johan reckons it could be good for night-time culling too.
That’s when features like the high magnification at the top end, illuminated reticle and parallax adjustment would really come into their own.
Johan comments that it’s a fair price for the scope, and Meopta have a very good reputation. He likes the positive click adjustment of the turrets, where you can both hear and feel each click.
