Ridgeline Torrent III jacket

Nigel Winkle from distributor Highland Outdoors explains why he sells the Ridgeline Torrent III smock.

This hunting jacket is part of the classic range. It’s well established and has been part of brand Ridgeline UK since the company came to market in this country in 2007.

Why is this a great piece of hunting equipment? It’s got everything you need, no fuss, fully waterproof, robust, hard-wearing and will suit most outdoor activities. For beaters, pickers-up, shooters and outdoor enthusiasts it’s a versatile country jacket.

It features a set of lined hand-warming pockets, bellow pockets and pipe dope fastening for carrying shotgun cartridges when out in the field.

The hydrostatic head is 10,000mm and the breathability is 5000mm. On the inside it features a solid taffeta lining to keep you warm during colder days, plus a high-collar and a generous hood which is wired to act as a wind-breaker and also features three-points of adjustment with a chin guard across the front.

Nigel says that the design of the hunting jacket is timeless and as one of their key products they’ll look to evolve it in the future. In the 14 years since the first iteration of the hunting jacket arrived in the UK it has been upgraded to its current standard. Improvements include enhancing the waterproof membrane and adapting the jacket to suit the current requirements of the market.

Is a Torrent IV smock on the cards? It sounds as if Nigel let’s something slip . . .
