What do you do when your gun has been confiscated on a stopover in a foreign country while you’re on your way back to the UK?
Will Thompson (@waathompson on Instagram) was hunting in New Zealand when the coronavirus lockdown was enforced. He and his girlfriend decided to cut short their trip and head home. They had flown there via Hong Kong, but with no flights going through the city, they were stuck.
Eventually they heard about managed to get seats on an evacuation flight home via Frankfurt, where authorities took away his weapon as he didn’t have a permit for Europe. After a futile month trying to get it back, he went on social media as a last resort.
