UKDTR – the deer tracking service

Play Video
The UK Deer Track & Recovery Group specialise in just that – from CSI-style investigation of a shot site, to tracking a deer through the undergrowth, to humane dispatch of the animal once found. They offer a free service to stalkers, and will also follow up deer injured on the road. James Marchington joins the group on a training day to discover how they train their dogs to follow a track and bring an injured deer to bay. If you need help tracking an injured deer, anywhere in the UK, go to UKDTR.co.uk/find-a-tracker/ to find your nearest tracker. Below, UK Deer Track & Recovery holds a demonstration day to show the kind of detective work you can undertake. They are out with the Ladies Rifle Club in Gloucestershire showing how deer tracking works, and what to look for where you last saw the deer. Find the Ladies’ Rifle Club on Facebook
